Splunk…The Observability Monster?

UPDATE: January 6, 2021

I have signed up for Splunk’s Prediction 2021, and have entered a few questions.  Highlighting this 3-parter directed at  Sendur Sellakumar, Sr VP and GM, Cloud & Cheif Product Officer.
“Here is a loaded 3 part-question: (1) Can you share a public timeline IF, HOW, and WHEN these modalities: LOGSITIMAPM (SignalFx, Plumr, Splunk-logs, etc) and Synthetics (Rigor), will be delivered as a unified solution, (2) when will your standard storage and retention pricing become competitive with (New Relic, CoraLogix, etc), (3) What’s your answer to integrating Security and APM, e.g. DynaTrace public announcement with RASP security?  “

Splunk acquired a few companies recently, and have the piece-parts of completing the full monitoring and observability suite of capability. With the recent acquisitions of SignalFx, Plumbr and Rigor, they filled critical gaps in ITIM, APM, and Synthetic monitoring. This all looks good in  Press Releases and the sells a good vibe of what’s coming. But, can they stitch these all together and not create… Frankenstein’s Monster?  Time will be the test.
